pls help! i have red x marked beside the clock of my windows, and i checked it says that virus update 090423-0 can be expired... etc etc what should i do? why do i have this kind of notice from windows? i have check the latest vps here and its 090423... then what could be the reason? is my windows false alarm?
please help! ???

Hi and welcome to the forum.
2 likely probabilities.
1) Your system time and date are out. Try updating the time.
2) The security centre has gotten itself all confused, the poor thing. Just confirm it is the windows security centre making this alert, with the red shield ion the system tray? There is a procedure to fix it.1. Go to control panel and open Administrative tools.
2. Click on services.
3. Go down to Windows Management Instrumentation.
4. Stop this service. Stop Security Center service too.
Set them to Automatically start.
5. Exit out of this area, to your desktop.
6. Right click Start, and choose Explore.
7. Go to c:\windows\system32\wbem\repository.
Delete this subdirectory ONLY.
Leave the others there.
8. Exit back to your desktop and reboot your computer (you might need to boot twice).
This will rebuild the deleted folder, and the database.
Once restarted, Windows Security Center should show the correct info.
Antivirus, and firewall, should now be recognized.

hey Tarq57, thanks for your help. the clock of my pc was turn to april 30! that is why the expire notice came up. i think i accidentaly change the clock. ~.~
