Title: Avast causing Blue screen physical memory dump
Post by: moem986 on May 03, 2011, 05:27:55 AM
 :'(

I tried to install this highly recommended program however I keep getting a blue screen forced shutdown after every installation. Once I uninstalled in safemode my laptop work fine again. Any suggestions?

Hi moem986, welcome to the forum :)

Please zip and upload some of the latest Minidump files from C:\windows\minidump to

ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming/ (ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming/)

and include a link to this topic, so that the Avast! Developers can analise what is wrong. Thank you :)

Greetz, Red.

Open a window( let's say disk C:\ )  and paste in the address bar the ftp link, after that you should get an empty window where you can drag'n'drop your archieved minidump file, don't forget to name the  archieve uniquely.

Let's start a little less complicated, shall we?  ;D

Please give us more information:
1. What hardware do you use? Processor and amount of RAM?
2. What is your windows version? (XP, Vista, Win7 - Service Packs installed - 32 or 64 bit)
3. Any other Antivirus/Security program or Firewall currently installed? Which?
4. Any other Antivirus/Security program or Firewall previously installed? Which? Uninstalled?
5. What version of Avast did you try to install? (Free 6.0.1091 ?)

We'll continue after this information has been given.
