Hi  

I just dowmloaded the new avast this morning and Iwas wondering when I go differnt web pages  for some reason this keeps poping up and what is it.  I am new to this stuff sorry in being so dumb.

AVAST ON ACCESS SCANNER MESSAGE      DCOM exploit    TCP packer from 69.135.214.81:135 sometimes it looks like my ip address or it changes to different web pages. plus sometimes it has one on top of a one with differnt numbers.   Plus is there to be a sheild on top of the  a that turns around . And I do I have it on thorugh scan  .  Last question do those icons on  Access   Protection Control do I have to do anything to them I use Mirc and MSN Messanger  Plus Outlook Express 6.     I thank you for your help

Oh, i didn't understand you well, do you ask what that warning message means? Network shield is a new feature od avast (3rd paragraph here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=11;action=display;threadid=8033). It says, DCOM exploit "attacked" you from 69.135.214.81 on your port 135 (e.g. Blaster virus), full report is localized in \program files\alwil software\avast4\data\reports (called nshield.log).

That IP adress can't be yours, it's a remote address - where the attack comes from.
