Title: False Positive Website
Post by: jaredlloydphoto on February 26, 2012, 04:35:24 PM
I have sent a report to Avast about my website coming up as a false positive multiple times now but to no avail.

http://www.urlvoid.com/scan/jaredlloydphoto.com

https://www.virustotal.com/url/77f07ed873207f0175b2a230a034af2d724d195b6442054cc42ed4dde41c7870/analysis/1330270125/

both come back clean.

I conduct 95% of my business through this website. With Avast blacklisting it (infection: URL:Mal) both clients and prospective clients cannot access the site.

What options are available to me other than the formal submitting of a potential false positive?

Also, with all other AV scanners coming back clean, how would my site have gotten on this list to begin with?

Thanks for the help,
Jared

Have you had any infection on the site recently ?

This is an alert of network shield alert (see image1)

There is an on-line contact form, http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php?loadStyles (http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php?loadStyles) for:  * Sales inquiries; Technical issues; Website issues; Report false virus alert in file; Report false virus alert on website; Undetected Malware; Press (Media), issues.

- If you are reporting an FP, then you get another input field open, enter the web URL for the site you wish to submit for review (network shield), etc. A link to this topic also wouldn't hurt.

David,
thanks for your response. I have reported this to Avast three times now via the form that you recommended.

I have not had an infection on my site recently.
