Hello Eddy
I clicked on your malware remover instructions link. Then I clicked "Free online ad/spyware scan, and got "Spyware begone" I downloaded that and it gave me Win 32:Trogen-gen.{Other} I put that in the virus chest. Did I do something wrong? What do I do now?

Uninstall spyware begone, and that should do the trick.
EDIT:
Eddy I suggest you get rid of that link, Spyware begone is listed under the rogue/suspect list. http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

Ok I'll try that and get back to you tomorrow.
Thanks watchthisspace

Your welcome. :)
You should be able to delete that trojan once spyware begone is uninstalled

I can't find Spyware Begone in Add remove programs. How should I go about un installing this program?
-
Delete the entire folder it is in and clean your registry.

Before I saw the last post I found the uninstaller for the program and uninstalled it. Then I did a boot time scan and Avast didn't find anything. I don't know if I could do the registry cleaning thing. Just a novice here.
I still have the Trogen in the virus chest and the "Spyware begone" icon is still on my desktop. I don't seem to be having any problems with the computer at this time. Is there anything else I should do? Thanks for all your help !

g67 welcome to the forums, I am not an expert but I would delete the icon from the desktop as it's only a shortcut, and also delete the file from the chest, as pc is working ok it shows it's not needed, sure somebody will help you sort the registry out, good luck! :)
