With 1451, I was not able to download Flash files from sites which are script related. I realised it was a major issue with 1451 for which the corrective 1456 was launched. I downloaded and did over the top install of 1456.
Now I find none of the softwares IE or FF is able to access the internet even though Windows 7 records as Internet ready. Obviously some problem with the web shield.
Since I was not ready for the long haul I am back to the last stable 1426.

Try doing a clean install rather than over the top, it helps sometimes if everything is fresh.

Infact before reinstalling 1426 I uninstalled the higher version and also ran aws clear. After 1426 has updated to the latest signatures I find it blocking IE and Firefox. Hence I had to disable Web shield Permanently and they work fine.
Can anyone please look into it and confirm whether something could have gone wrong in the earlier perfectly functioning 1426

Did you check to see if your firewall was blocking anything from Avast? By uninstalling Avast and doing a clean install, it should fix the firewall problem. BTW, what is your firewall? What other security software are you using?

My firewall Online Armor does not report a thing, and Avast is fully trusted default by OA. Seems like an engine update bungling. It was working fine for so long...

It sometimes happens with 3rd party firewalls - they detect that the files (such as AvastSvc.exe) have been updated, but it happens rather soon during the boot process and the firewall is unable to ask the users what to do about it - so it starts blocking.
I suggest to remove the corresponding rules from OA and let them be re-created.

On your suggestion I removed AvastSvc.exe from the list of OA while allowing the Web shield in AVAST.. Hey did it work!!! Now Firefox works. In this case OA seemed to display Avastsvc.exe as trusted leading to some confusion... Thanks mate for the help :) 8).
PS Can I boldly try out 1456?? Has it stabilised??

1456 is stabled. Yes, try it again though I recommend a clean install.
