Hi, just done a boot scan with Avast and it has detected one virus which is shown on the screenshot.
Can any confirm that this is an infection and not a false positive as I dont want to delete something I shouldnt have.
Many Thanks
Andy

first....it is difficult to confirm a virus just from a name on a screenshot..
you need to test the file at virustotal.com or jotti.org to get an idea
anyway in your case it is a PUP detection....and PUP is not virus, and pup scan is also default off in quick/full scan, but not on bootscan....that is also not meant to be used as a weekly scan type
PUP = Possible Unwanted Program
avast is telling you that you have a program that can be used for good or bad if abused
if you put mouse pointer just in front of SEVERE....and dragg sideways, then we can see the full path of where the file is located...and may see what program it belongs to
Googling the name it seems to come from a Sony program....does it ring a bell?
