Title: profileuser.dll
Post by: izlosdes on July 12, 2012, 03:22:36 AM
Everytime I turn on my computer this message appears: "error: profileuser.dll "

In contact with professionals from "http://www.dll-files.com/", they told me this a not .dll file, but a virus.
Can someone help me to clean up my computer.
Thanks.

Hi izlosdes,

I have done a little research for you and others to make information available to understand what this is and what it does.

http://www.prevx.com/filenames/X1799162293017079833-X1/PROFILEUSER.DLL.html (http://www.prevx.com/filenames/X1799162293017079833-X1/PROFILEUSER.DLL.html)

Symantec Antivirus:  (using "profileuser.dll" in quotes)  http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2011-021705-2249-99 (http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2011-021705-2249-99)

Go to this link here:  http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0)  Please download and run the following programs:  Malwarebytes, OTL, aswMBR.  Do not attempt to fix anything at this time, logs are needed by a malware expert to craft a custom fix for you.

Attach all logs here, not in the LOGS topic above, use "Attachments and other options" lower left hand corner of reply box, attach using the browse button on the Attach line below.  Note the restrictions of types and sizes of files that can be attached as well.

As profileuser.dll is set to start when you turn on this computer (startup) you will get this error if it is corrupt or missing.

Please be patient.  If you have not already done so, tick off the box for "Notify me of replies" below.

Contacted a malware expert to have a look here.  Should not be too long to wait.
