Title: avast! scan detected spyware - how to delete? or not?
Post by: astroboy1101 on July 13, 2012, 03:34:53 PM
I have mac lion and ran a system scan on avast!  and the program detected some spyware called a bankfraud trojan.  I "deleted" them with the button.  Am I done?  They show up in the full system scan window as "deleted."

Thanks!

The safer option is always send to Chest instead of direct delete.
You can run a full scanning with avast to be sure you're clean.

Hi,

Actually, we don't have any chest in avast! for Mac.

If you delete a file and there is a status "deleted" then the file is gone and you are safe. Note that we also detect Windows malware on your Mac.
