Title: advanst latest update WinXP problem
Post by: woohoohere on January 08, 2005, 01:18:49 PM
I recommended this program to a friend of mine and all worked well. Until she got the latest update. Then she was having outlook lock up when sending an email and she couldn't browse the internet with IE. She has WinXP SP2. When I when to send an email it locked up to with web access problems. So I disabled all protection and guess what?!? The email (Outlook and Outlook Express) worked fine after that and so did the web access.
SO WHAT GIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >

I liked your product but you screwed up somewhere. What happened and are you going to fix it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

hi and welcome to the forums ,
are you looking for assistance ? most if not all people here are users who give their time to help friends in need . occasionally you will get help from the developers but mostly its volunteer users who   give their time freely.
I suggest you read this thread http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=10142.msg85886#msg85886
it probably applies to your situation . if it doesnt, come back with more detail and without the attitude and we might get further.

Witout more details it is almost imposible to help.

XP home or pro?
What other security software/hardware is there?
What are the settings of it?
What are Avasts settings?
What are the exact errors?
etc etc etc.

One thing is for sure. Avast does not 'just' block mail sending/receiving nor browsing.
