I have been using Avast Home edition on my personal computers since 2003. I started a new job a couple of months ago and I got a MacBook Pro. I now use ClamXav but I want to change it to Avast for Mac.
My question is: Am I allowed to use Avast for Mac on my business computer? I am wondering this since I can only find a free Avast for Mac version and not one for a business.
I hope someone knows how it works because I want to do the right thing.

Yes. :)

Thanks for the reply Asyn :-).
I now discovered that my message was a bit unclear but.
My concern is regarding if I am allowed to use Avast for Mac
for free on my business computer.
Maybe the answer is still yes?

1. You're welcome.
2. That's how I understood it. And the answer is still yes. :)

That sounds great.
Thanks you!

You can not use the free version for commercial purposes. It is clearly stated in the license agreement. See section 2 - "Permitted Use of the Software"

A business version of the product will come soon.
-
Thank you tumic for the answer.
Then I will wait for the business version, so I can do it the right way :-)
It would have been easier if it was clearly stated on the website that Avast for Mac is only free for
individuals and a business version will be coming soon.

Thanks for your input Tumic, I stand corrected.
Interesting is that it was announced otherwise here: http://www.avast.com/de-de/pr-avast-free-antivirus-for-mac-tops-cnet-download.com-in-3-days
avast!
So, if it isn't true (anymore..??), someone should correct that article..!! ;)

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll correct that. The actual business version of avast! for Mac will be ready really soon.

Any news on the business version for Mac?
-
The (Mac) business version is definitely available now. If you can not find it on the avast! web page (me either), than send an email to our support, they will help you to get it.

That's very strange. I've only just seen this reply - but in the meantime I've checked the Avast site regularly for an announcement or even a mention on there of a mac business version. Why is it hidden?
-
It currently sold via resellers only.

Well it is now 2014 (two years later). Where the f**k is the business version? The only thing I have been able to find is Avast Pro for Mac through European resellers. A.) As a U.S. resident I don't want to go through European resellers. B) Avast Pro for Mac isn't really the product I want.
The product I want is Avast endpoint protection for mac (which would integrate seamlessly with the small office administration console and Enterprise Admin console). Why hasn't this been developed yet? I can't think of a good reason. I think there is certainly a market for such a product (your competitors are already doing this!).

I think Avast Free for Mac is for home use only, i would head over to Intego:
http://www.intego.com/

Like other users have said there's Avast! Pro for Mac aimed at businesses: http://www.avast.com/faq.php?article=AVKB70#artTitle
But would too like to see an Endpoint version for Macs which would work in Hybrid Mac and PC Business Environments.

Intego doesn't look like it has an end point product (i.e. clients managed by a central management console). This is a must, which is why I said it my first post Avast Pro for Mac isn't the product I want. I want Avast Endpoint Protection for Mac.

I think VirusBarrier has this but im not sure: http://www.intego.com/business/mac-virusbarrier#/overview
Were using it at school on about 60 Macs.
