You have to use another port for avast, e.g. 26: insert this line
SmtpListen=127.0.0.1:26
to file C:\Program Files\ALWIL Software\Avast4\Data\Avast4.ini into section [MailScanner].
Then change the port value also in Outlook Express in the accounts that are protected by avast (menu Tools -> Accounts -> Properties -> Advanced).

Thank you very much for your help.
I'm sorry but outlook doesn't work.

it shows me this message :

Impossible to connect to the server. Account: 'Personale', Server: 'mail.tuttopmi.it', Protocollo: SMTP, Port: 26, Protection (SSL): No, Errore socket: 10060, Error no: 0x800CCC0E

Have you any idea?
Thank you again....

The SMTP server should be set to 127.0.0.1 in your account if you want to scan your outgoing mail. Did you use the Mail Protection Wizard ?

The SMTP server in the error message above is set to 'mail.tuttopmi.it'. What error message do you get when you set it to '127.0.0.1' ?
