Title: How to abort program update once it's started?

I started downloading 7.0.1466 from the interface last night but when I saw it was taking forever (still with dialup) I disconnected and shut down. This evening when I went to update my definitions, the stupid thing tries to make me finish downloading the program update first. Obviously there's a file or files cached somewhere on my system that's causing it to resume. Anyone know where and what it is?
