Title: Popups in Right Hand Corner
Post by: shelby_jay on August 31, 2012, 01:01:29 AM
I have installed avast because I had to at the University that I go to. Now, every 15 seconds a orange popup in the top right-hand corner appears and tells me that there is a problem with my mail and that I should disable the SSL/TLS in my mail client and enable it in the mail shield preferences. It will let the mailshield scan my problems... I don't know where that is. I have searched in my preferences and I really, really just want for the popups to stop.
Thanks

Check out this article on that - avast! 6.x, 7.x: SSL Problems The Mail Shield may not scan some e-mails - see https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=842 (https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=842). Whilst this is an old article and mentions avast6 it is relevant for avast7 also.

Thanks for that Asyn, I didn't notice that we were in the avast! for Mac sub-forum when I answered.
