http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Having always logged in as Administrator, I repeatedly fail to download the latest version of Flash Player "because I do not have Administrator rights", which is puzzling.
No matter what I try on their Help pages I get the same reply. I have Exited Winpatrol, neutralised (long ago) Threatfire - no difference.
As you see I run a home system 32. Any ideas - it may be security-related?
Regards

Thank you Asyn,
Just done it - but which one? T tried the second one down as I use Firefox, which I had to first close.
Flash version 11.4.402.265
Windows Plugin-based browsers
<<Windows Plugin-based browsers All supported languages
Download EXE Installer
Download MSI Installer>>
... and got the Fehlermeldung (I am in Germany and understand German - tho not German) "unausreichende Berechtigung bei Windows Mocramedia etc" - no authority.
I am not convinced that the 11.3.300.271 version would work either

Well, you've to install it as admin..!!

As I said in my first post, I am ALWAYS logged as Administrator. This is why I am a bit sick of Adobe telling me I am not.
I go to Systemsteuerung to verify this: to Benutzerkonten und Jugendschutz -> hinzufügen/entfernen to verify that I am indeed logged in by my name, which also happens to be as Administrator.
Although this the Home version of Vista for my own personal use, as a precaution I have created a login name - which is also The Administrator. It always works whenver another program requests Administrator's permission - so what IS the problem here??
-
Did you try right clicking the installer and choose 'Run as admin"..??
-
Just tried 'Run as admin".. and although Flash Player 11 Plug-in is on the system it won't run -- "unausreichende Berechtigung" or such.
Earlier I used Adobe's own Flash Uninstaller in case it did not like CCleaner's uninstall, same result!

Well, it's Vista... ;D
As you've more than one admin account, try to log in with the other account and install FP.

Well, there is just me i.e. "HPY (Administrator)" and "Gast (nicht benutzt)".
I suppose I could try logging in as "Gast (nicht benutzt)" - for which I presume I would have to create a password.
But doesn't that strike you as illogical - since Vista keep s aksing for Administrator.
Anyway it will have to wait until tomorrow now - must go.
Thanks anyway.
Must get it done though.

1. Hmm, sorry no idea why this happens then...
2. Wouldn't help.

I logged in this morning, opened Firefox, and Windows as usual tells me "Flash Player 11.4 r402 funktioniert nicht mehr usw."
"FPlayer 11.4 r402 no longer works because of a technical problem. The program will close and you will be notfied if a solution is found"!
Terrific.
Can one do without it it?
I may as well uninstall it using Adobe's uninstaller, eh?
