Does this mean a whole no install of Avast 4.1 and uninstall of Avast 4 or will it be a program update with no need to redo all the settings?

It will be done as an ordinary program update, i.e. no need to reinstall or reconfigure.

OK guys I think it's going to be tonight (for Americans) or tomorrow (for Europeans/Asians/Australians). We had some issues found in the late testing cycle and these had to be sorted out (we don't want to release the program with any known bugs).

Hi minacross!

The upgrade to 4.1 will be out really soon, just do not push at us so hard  ;) !

We expect that about 100 000 computers around the world will be updated to the new version during first 12 hours, so we are currently testing all the possible problems with the incremental update procedure. We want to make the upgrade as smooth as possible.

Of course, there will be both - incremental update and full installer (that is capable to update an existing installation as well).

The Eng. version from the Cz. site (URL: http://www.asw.cz/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe) is  7.341.215  bytes, but the Eng. version from the US site (URL: http://www.asw.cz/iavs4pro/setupeng.exe) is 7,3412,170  bytes  ??? ??? ???

Sould not they be of the same size?  ??? ???

Of course they should and of course they will. Now the incremental update system is fully functional and the full product EXEs are uploaded to the sites at this moment. Of course it takes some time so they could differ. PLEASE stop to be so nervous and anxious !!

KPF 4.0.3 is conflicting with Avast4 ver 4.1.260(KPF4 is closing itself after loading on windows startup  ??? ??? ). So, I returned back to ver KPF 2.1.5    >:( >:(
