Title: New to MAC version

Hi,

I'm new to macs and I downloaded this because I had it on my Windows computer previously. Do I have to open avast to have the shield up or does it run in the background like on my Windows version (on the task bar). I'm afraid when I close avast and the icon goes away from my dock that the shield won't be operating. Please let me know. Thank you!

Hi Ayame19,
Avast will protect you in the background just like in Windows..I have it on my Windows Machine (paid version) as well as this "free" one on my iMac...not to worry it works just great!

so I don't have to open the program every time I turn on my computer? Because I've noticed when I turn on my computer, the program isn't open and when I click it, it loads and says secure. Is there a setting for it to start when my computer starts? I don't want to have to remember to open it every time. I'm used to my windows one always starting up on its own for me. Thanks for the reply!
