every time I try to run a virus scan my computer locks up. signed middlerich

What scan are you trying to run ?

A little information about your system might help, RAM, CPU, Operating System ?

Have (or did) you another Anti-Virus installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?
What other security bases applications do you have installed ?
