I've tried using aswclear, I've cleared avast 6 and avast 7. Same error.
I've also tried updating/repairing Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=11895) same error.

Please help!

From the error report it does state access denied, which is unusual

No other AV's are evident.

The programme is not being installed at all, not even creating the directory

Looking at the reg key it is trying to access .. There is not one at that location on my win7

Delete the current setup copy on your desktop and download from the direct link  here (http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe)

Then retry

Has any part of avast been installed ?
e.g. is there an avast entries in the Task Manager for avastUI.exe (most likely as the icon would have the Red X) and avastSvc.exe, this is the main scanning engine of avast ?

Did you run the avast setup (installation) file from an administrator account ?

No sign of avast in task manager, and yep I do run as administrator.

The usual cause of that error is an AV holding open registry keys..  However you do not have another AV so it is back to research

You guys giving up on me?

There may be some delays due to differing time zones (we do sleep) and availability of the volunteer malware removal specialists, etc.

Not to mention this is something which neither of us have come across before and essexboy has tried to escalate this to one of the moderators (avast staff) as this we feel needs more in depth knowledge of the program than we as avast users have.

You said you've uninstalled AVG. Just to humor us, would you please run the following:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=102237.msg818406#msg818406 (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=102237.msg818406#msg818406)
and let us know if it shows any Antivirus programs other than avast!

I'm currently at a family members house for around five days, I'll test that program when I get back.

Hopefully a developer will be able to answer the question then

It only says I have the Microsoft security installed.

For MSE see 23b: http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/

Wait do you have to remove it? It comes with all computers?

YES. You should only run one ondemand Antivirus program at a time.
Since, in my opinion, avast! is the best choice, removing MSE is a no brainer.  :D

The problem is still the share violation error...  To which I have been unable to find a resolution ..  I will forward again to Avast

Okay thank you for helping, the sooner I get avast installed, the sooner my pc will be safe.

I was wondering, could someone send all of the files for avast, then I could put it in programs files? Or wouldn't that work? Still don't have security.

That won't work as the program files have to be registered within windows registry, etc. and the program files folder isn't the only area that files/data is stored.
