Title: avast considers mbamswissarmy service from mbam as a rootkit.

i was online earlier today and avast pops up saying that there is a rootkit and suspicious activity. the process in question is mbamswissarmy which i know is the update for mbam. i had downloaded mbam yesterday and there were no problems.  im going to guess this is a possible false positive as i have never had a problem with avast and mbam working together before.

You should place exclusions between avast and MBAM, see section K http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?act=findpost&pid=417798

thanks for the help. so far avast and mbam have been cooperating. its weird how i have never had this issue before. why now? is it because the newer version of avast sees any other scanners as an issue or is it that way for most av out there?

Some systems seem to have no problems when running the two together and avast has usually got along well with MBAM but iv seen this detection in the past and lately iv seen it rearing itself again.

It could be due to some of the increased scanning capabilities of avast in the new version but i cant say for sure plus the new version of MBAM may be slightly different in its code as well but it's always recommended to exclude security software from one another for this exact reason, not just avast but all AV's should have exclusions.

Mine did the same this morning and I have set the directory for Malwarevbytes to be excluded from scanning.
Yet it still hit it.

I did not know to add the mbam update url. I have just done that and it should all be well.
