I am in the process of downloading a rather large file (single 1.66GB file) so I decided to use a download manager incase it was interupted I could then easily resume the download. However, the download manger (only one I could use in this instance) was not of a known/trusted source to me, so to be on the safe side I decided to do this whole process in a sandbox. At first I tried using my "go to" sand box "sandboxie" but for some unknown reason I kept getting an error and it wouldn't work, so I decided to use the Avast sandbox instead. Now, in sandboxie, I can simply bring up its control panel browse to the location of the file and right click then select recover file. However, with Avast sandbox I have no idea how to recover a file.
This is how I went about the process. when I downloaded the download manager, I right clicked on it (the installation ".exe") and clicked run in sandbox. The program installed (in the sandbox) and the download is underway...with the estimated time of completion ~7hrs. BTW.... this is the first time I've used this download manager and I have no idea where its default download directory is. I tried doing a search for it, but to no avail, as the program itself was installed in the sandbox it doesn't even show up in the program files directory. In Sandboxie I can run the explorer in the sandbox as well, so I could simply right click on "computer" run in sandboxie, and then I could browse all the directories that were only open in the sandbox. Avast sandbox does not let me do this, it seems to only work on .EXE files.
I did not mess with any of the avast sand box options/settings its all still set at whatever the default is. So how do I move this file out of the sandbox so that when I terminate the sandbox I don't loose the file I will have spent over 9hrs downloading?

I am not versed on the ins and outs of the Sandbox module but am also interested in the issue you have laid out.
I'm sure someone in the "know" will shed some information on the issue. :-\ :)

The sandbox is an area isolated from your operating system. Once you leave that area, anything in the sandbox is deleted.
Test while in the sandbox. If what you're testing is clean, then revisit that same site and download the tested program from your regular browser.
(I also don't use the sandbox, (The full version is not available in the free version)but that's how a sandbox works.)

@bob3160, thanks, but no no thanks. If you're going to reply, it really helps to read the OP first. I know perfectly well what a sandbox is, and what its used for... your answer has nothing to do with what I asked.
A sandbox is not just used for web browsers, it is used for any programs. If you read my OP you would have noticed that I downloaded using a download manager not the web browser. So "testing it" then re-downloading outside of the sandbox would do me no good, because then I would have had to install the download manager, which is what I wanted to avoid.
A quality sandbox will let you move files out of it once you determine they are safe... you should not have to re-download/install/etc. It may not seem like a big deal if your talking about a 5 or 10 mb file, but when the file is large (like 1.66GB) you don't want to have to download it twice, especially when the Download speed tops out at 50kb/s
ANYWAYS... I never figured out how to do it (if you even can). Unfortunately I had to re-download after all. I re-installed an older version of Sandboxie and got it to work. Downloaded and very simply in about 5 clicks/10 seconds recoverd the downloaded file, and terminated the sandbox to wipe out all the download manger install files and junk it leaves behind
