Title: can't remove an avast warning
Post by: nicollo47 on October 05, 2012, 04:15:58 PM
i get the message that avast is analyzing a suspicious program and is running it in the avast sandbox --- there is a "terminate now" button in the display but clicking on it has no effect and i can't move the box in which message appears so it blocks some of my display --- how do i get rid of the message without disabling avast
thanks nick

Reboot.

I would also make note of the file name and location of the file that was sandboxed and post details in your next post.

Personally I would set the AutoSandbox mode to Ask, this gives you more interactive control if a file should be run in the autosandbox. Though you would have to have some knowledge of your system and what you were doing at the time the autosandbox 'asks' what action should it take.

thanks for your prompt response

additional information:

the file that is being sandboxed and its path  are as follows:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Portrait Displays\HP My Display\DTHtml.exe

the operating system is:
OS Name   Microsoft® Windows Vista™ Home Premium
Version   6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002

the AutoSandbox mode is set to "Ask"

Is your system an HP ?
If so is this is an HP application that came installed and has been on the system for some time (check the file properties for created date) ?

If the above are all positive answers (and it has been on the system for some time) you could add it to the AutoSandbox, Settings, AutoSandbox 'Files that will be excluded from automatic sandboxing.'

I have the same problem every time I try to do a "Syncbreeze" update even though Syncbreeze itself is set to ignore in the Auto-Sandbox and Auto-Sandbox is set to Ask.   I had it happen this morning when I tried to do an update to Syncbreeze on my three Windows 7 SP1 computers.  After a few clicks I was able to close the avsat! box that said Terminate and then install the update.

Sorry I don't remember exactly how I did it.  It was about 3 AM when I did it so I was at least half asleep at the time. ;D

You're welcome, let us know how/if the exclusion works.
