Title: ActiveX controls not allowed
Post by: bloodrayne on February 02, 2005, 08:23:45 AM
Hi ! I just upgraded from Norton Internet Security 2001 to Avast! 4.0 Home Edition. After everything successfully done (Uninstalling Norton included) I get a message saying "AN ACTIVEX CONTROL ON THIS PAGE MIGHT BE UNSAFE TO INTERACT WITH OTHER PARTS OF THE PAGE. DO YOU WANT TO ALLOW THE INTERACTION ?" . This happens each time i try to browse My Pictures, my hard drives ( THROUGH my computer) and while running other programs with activeX controls (e.g. Yahoo messenger). Please help me... how do I go about correcting this, it is really gross. I can't preview my pictures normally, as a result, I have to open each and every image in the case that I do not know its name. Please help me, tell me how I can allow ActiveX content to be viewed, run and operated upon ?????   KayCee

Did you remove NAV using the uninstall util from symantec?
If not:
- remove Avast
- reboot
- remove NAV using the uninstall util
- reboot
- reinstall Avast
- reboot
