Yesterday I downloaded and installed Avast Free 7.0.1473. This has caused my computer serious problems and reading http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=107722.0 (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=107722.0) I am far from alone. I have uninstalled it and tried to install the previous version I was using (7.0.1426) with which I had had few problems, but unfortunately the installer states "You are trying to use an old version of the installer" etc, and won't install. Not only does the Avast uninstall operation appear NOT to uninstall Avast completely but it is VERY STUPID to completely prevent users from rolling back to a previous version of the software.
Please could somebody tell me how to completely remove Avast from my computer as I really don't want to have to reformat the hard drive just because I installed a crap version of the software.

I already have the installer for version 7.0.1426. I know that this version works without any major problems. After wasting half a day, I do not want to install another version that I haven't previously tried. How do I install version 7.0.1426?
