I am trying to install Google Drive and am not able to.... it may be because of Avast...I hace Windows XP.... can I temporarily take off Avast and try to install Google Drive and whether successful or not I will put Avast back on.... please give me the steps to do this... Thank you, Al

avast! shouldn't be interfering... What is the error message you're receiving? Can you post a screenshot of it?

Disabling the antivirus in NOT a solution... Google Drive does NOT need the antivirus to be off...

He asked how do it. You could have answered him. Its a temporary disable. There are several times you need disable your antivirus. Such as installing a game. 99% of game manufacturers specifically tell customers to temporarily disable there antivirus so that it does not interfere with the installation. If Avast should not be disabled then why is there a disable feature built in like every av has.

Poor game developers. If they code badly their program they shouldn't give poor advice.
The disable option for sure is not for installing software...
