Hello, I have used Avast Free Edition for many years. No problems till now.
My husband had this problem first, now I have the same problem.
Warnings keep popping up saying I have a trojan, doesn't matter what site I'm at.
I tried looking through the Avast site for a solution & didn't see where this is addressed although, I did see many posts about the problem when I googled it.
Just got another while typing a message on face book! Sigh, what is going on? I ran a scan with malwarebytes & advanced system care & nothing comes up.
We need help please?
Thanks so much!
Here is what it said:

Thanks to all who helped, the problem is Resolved! :)
If you have this problem here's what I did:
I went to Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs> Located: "Anti-Phishing Domain Advisory"> Uninstalled it>>> No More Problem!!! :D

Having exactly the same problem and it also started today (nov 18,2012)
-
Are you using an antiphishing filter ? Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor
-
Over the past week I have had several pop ups saying a Trojan Horse has been blocked. This is new, what is happening?
-
Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor has some suspect links which Avast does not like. If you do not have that tool then look at the toolbars/addons that you have just acquired
-
"visicom" If I remember correctly, avast has some issues with visicom.
-
Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor
Would this lead to false positives? I checked all three links with virus total and all three were clean. ???

I'm getting the same pop-up:
Infection Details
URL: http://urlfilter.vmn.net/vmnsbf/data/121...
Process: C:\ProgramData\Anti-phishing Domain Advi...
Infection: JS:ScriptSH-inf [Trj]
Is this a false positive? What do I need to do?

If it's in the vault leave it there. After several weeks re-scan (right click) while it's in the vault. Then and only then you can safely "restore" it to it's original
place. Keep in mind a copy will remain in the vault. :)

Did not know I had Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor installed, but found it when I went to ADD or REMOVE PROGRAMS. i removed it and have not had a reoccurance of the warning. Thank you Essexboy!!!
-
I looked & found I also had the "Anti-Phishing Domain Advisory" installed, found it in ADD or REMOVE PROGRAMS!
I uninstalled it hoping that it'll solve the problem on ours too!
Q's: How did I get it? Do I need one to replace it? Do you know if it came along with a program?
Thanks everyone for the HELP! Am so looking forward to no more pop up/warnings! :)
-
have you downloaded anything from CNET?
-
Not for quite some time, I can't remember the last time. I thought they were a good site to use tho?
The only things I know of that I've downloaded was updates on Malwarebytes, Advanced System Care & Avast.
I do have grandkids tho.....
Found it on the other computer too, uninstalled it, hoping, so far nothing on this one! Yea!

Hi, I´m having the same problem and I don´t know how to go about it.........it is getting very frustrating!!!
-
CLEAR THE BAD TOOLBARS
Download AdwCleaner from here (http://general-changelog-team.fr/en/downloads/finish/20-outils-de-xplode/2-adwcleaner) to your desktop
Run AdwCleaner and select Delete
(https://dl.dropbox.com/u/73555776/AdwCleaner.GIF)
Once done it will ask to reboot, allow this
On reboot a log will be produced please attach that

I was having the same issue. Yay!! No more pop-ups!!!
-
I'm also experienced the same thing. It's never happen before, but lately the signs of warning always come out. I've already checked using others antivirus showing there's no virus in my pc. yet, it stills pop up and it disturbs my works.
-
Hello,
it is still the same story: non-crypted database of malicious URLs used by visicom antiphishing.

I have been bombarded with similar pop-up pointing to the same purported virus/malware since about 4-5 days. And the threat was about the URL http://urlfilter.vmn.net/vmnsbf/data/121118112548-m.zip|121118112448-m.list and it was reported to reside in my PC @ C:\ProgramData\Anti-PhishingDomainAdvisor\visicom_antiphishing.exe.
And I checked for the program through Control Panel-->Programs--->Programs And Features(in Vista) and, indeed, I found "Anti-Phishing Domain Advisor." I have just un-installed it and hope that I have seen the last of Avast Threat Pop-ups.
It is possible that if you got two anti-virus programs in the same computer, one might fight the other. As they say, there can not be two swords in a single sheath!!!!
-
those with same problem can try run AdwCleaner as it seems to remove the visicom antiphish toolbar and all registry keys
see reply #15 above here from Essexboy
you may post the log here

I wonder what this is bundled with as a lot of people did not even know they had it

I wonder what this is bundled with as a lot of people did not even know they had it
I received an email yesterday from a person who attended my Security Seminars (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=78426.msg647360#msg647360) asking for help on this problem before I realized that we already had this thread.
I've now asked that person if he happened to remember what started his problem.
Will report back if I get an answer. :)

Unfortunately no help this is what I got back from my inquiry:
"Hi Bob,
I dont know how this program got into my CP, I have been getting this notice for about 2 weeks maybe, I am very careful about installing stuff. If had not remembered your email, I would be lost, I really did not know what I should do, I thought Avast would take it, in fact I wrote Avast, but I dont think it went thru, so I looked at my Avast account and I had saved your information. I wish I could help you with this, but I used Revo, to uninstall, it seems to be gone.
Thanks,
Jerry"
Hopefully someone else will be able to enlighten us. :)
