ZASS stands for ZoneAlarmSuiteSetup. ;D

ZA also has released 2 critical security updates which still are valid for the 4.x pro (only?) version also!
Automatic update revealed them when I was at customers place a little earlier tonight.

Bob thanks mate for the ZASS ;D

Received the download and installed it last night. As I'm on dial up and my processor speed in 533Mhz, it took it's time, but seems ok.
-
Is it my imagination, or has this new update also cut ZA's need for resources some? My Internet seems to be running faster.
I'm waiting for their v6 where, it's rumored, they plan to get rid of True Vector.

Chuck58 I have heard ZA is planning to get rid of the True Vector in the v6.0 and it has cause a lot of problems in the pass and it taking up a lot of CPU used in the pass.

Thanks for the heads up :)
What was Tru Vector?
-
True Vector is ZoneAlarm firewall's internet monitoring engine and lately, since ZA 5xxx has been a problem according to some of the security sites I post at.
On the other hand, I've been running ZA free for about a month, including the latest update, and haven't a single complaint. On my machine, its use of computer resources is also down some.

It's certainly a resource hog in one respect. I have to remember to shut down ZA after disconnecting (I'm on dialup), or at least sometime before I try to shut down the system, otherwise shutdown takes nearly 5 minutes (appearing to hang in the "Saving your settings..." stage) as against less than a minute if ZA is already off.
