Hi all,
we recently launched a recommendation program, it's still in "open beta" so any feedback is appreciated.
The recommending is simple:
Create or login to your avast account
Go to the Recommendations section
https://my.avast.com/recommendation
Share the unique link via social networks or email.
When somebody installs avast using your unique link and start using avast, you will get a credit for it and see it on your dashboard. (this can be delayed up to 24 hours after the installation)

When you reach 7/14/21 friends to install and use avast, you will be eligible to download a free license of Internet Security for 1/2/3 years. The maximum is 3 year license valid from the time the first license was issued. (basically you reach 7 friends, we give you a license for 1 year and if you get another 7, the license will be prolonged for 1 year...)
We tried to make it as easy as possible for you, and we know that's quite easy to cheat, but on the other side we are able to detect suspicious accounts and disable the licenses, so please do not cheat ;-)
Our goal is obvious: Motivate and reward people recommending avast and to grow our userbase.
So start recommending and write me your opinions and ideas.

An excellent idea. As you may already know, I have a special link for those that attend a presentation
where the user receives a special price on the paid version of avast!.
I'm quite sure I have enough referrals to have earned a license but, I'm very happy with the free version.
I will however continue to push the paid versions of avast! for any one that shows even the slightest interest. ;D [size=78%] [/size]

Quite generous.
Though like Bob I'm happy using avast free and if we were all using the AIS version we would soon lose the knowledge of what is available to free users to also help them in the forums.

Would this be a direct download link... The reason I ask is that during my cleaning I am sometimes asked for a recommendation for an AV .. Yup you can guess what I recommend. I would rather not send them to CNET as I may end up having to remove toolbars where they pressed the wrong download button. As for the numbers I have no need of that as I am quite happy paying for AIS, so they can be donated to any worthy cause

Like Bob and David I like the free version. I do purchase a one year license to help support the company.
I do however see where this could be a mind blowing marketing tool. 8)

You can also recommend avast by logging into your 'avast-account'. You only have to choose 'add new devices'!

I try 2 days now to take the free license but can not and my Avast I.S expires soon .

Great 8) I've also reached first year goal and growing :) And I still have 21 day of my current AIS license till it expires :) It feels great to help and spread word about avast! Free and to see bar growing :)

I have installed the avast from the recommendation link to my 2 friends a few days ago. They registered the products with their own email addresses but I don't see these devices in myAvast.
What can I do?

It's hard to recommend Avast any more, as there is still no windows 8/server2012 support for paying business customers, nor is there any sign of a fix for the Please Wait... issue that many paying business customers are experiencing.
The faithful are loosing faith. >:(

I purchased avast for my business because I was a zealous promoter of avast for personal use and wanted to make sure revenue was headed back to the team for their efforts. Now, based on my business experience, not so much. :(

Could you provide me with a link to that download please. I could not find it on the Avast site. If it proves satisfactory I will purchase the new version.

I don't see a relation of the quoted post about the business server support to your earlier post of no firewall, plus even more of topic is the quoted post being in this thread relating to recommending the avast free version.

Hi all, I just downloaded avast a couple of days ago, read about the recommendation program and sent the link to all accounts in family in different computers, I personally installed avast from the link I sent on my parents computers, so I should have 2 friends by now but I can see none on my avast account. It is not working for me, what can I do about it?

Last time I checked I had 13. Now it is in 0 and I am not beta testing. It must be something else.

Yet, it may be BETA related, because BETA was not recognized by the portal. I think it will be fixed after a few days ;)

I downloaded my 3 year subscription over top of my free 1 year version that I had and it still says 1 year not 3 years. So with my referral from the recommendation why did not my 1 year change to 3 years? Is there some way to change my date. I can't seem to do it under Registration.
Do I have to uninstall my 1 year free one before I download the 3 year one?
Lemme know. I went in and added my device as well and it showed me my Windows 8 laptop. So what gives?

Could be only the time needed to update the portal... The license is issued when you buy/receive it and not when you donwload/install the software, so, it won't "help" to uninstall one to install the other. The other is already issued and working.

Ok, I just gave one of my recommendations to a friend, he downloaded from my recommendation link, installed it, registered it, got an email from Avast to confirm and all he got was Avast Free Antivirus not Avast Internet Security and after he registered he did not have the 3 years onto his date.
So the recommendation thing is not working. He just 1 year of Avast Antivirus. So much for recommending Avast to anyone.
It says right here on my recommendation list:
Friends: 21
Internet Security
(1 PC, 3 years)
$99.99
Another confusing thing is, why does it say $99.99 at the bottom?
So is he going to get Avast Internet Security for 3 years or what?

I recommended to 44 now. You should be able to sign in to this: https://my.avast.com/en-us/#recommendations and after that you should get a graphic telling you how many you gave a recommendation to and you will see a download link for a 3 year subscription. Look at this graphic that I am including and you will see what it looks like. And see my download link on the bottom right of the picture. I have done this and now have a three year subscription of Avast Internet Security.

How can I get the recommendation credit when I install it on friends PC from a USB stick. I always have this USB with me and have converted 10s of friends from AVG to AVAST?

How can I get the recommendation credit when I install it on friends PC from a USB stick. I always have this USB with me and have converted 10s of friends from AVG to AVAST?
You could always create a shortcut to your referral link on the USB. Use it at the customers home to download avast! Free.
As far as I know, there isn't any installation file that will give you credit.

I could download the porgram but not open it as it would stick after a few minutes. I have tried EVERYTHING, closing down the computer, downloading again but it still will not opne. Please help me or give me money back. I have never encountered such a probem in all my life time as this. HELP! I cannot telephone you as I live in Guatemala and it costs a bomb to phone! Jeff Mills

One question: will the currently used 3Y license regenerate new date at the end if I have way more valid recommendations than 21? :)
