Title: How do I check that I have Avast virus definitions?`
Post by: villandra on December 06, 2012, 05:46:27 PM
I'm trying to pin down evidence of a virus on my computer.

I see that something has been trying unusccessfully to block Avast from updating its virus definitions.

If something doesn't want Avast to update its virus definitions, it may also have wiped out hte virus definitions to begin with.

How do I make sure the virus definitions are there - or, better, re download the entire virus definition database?

I mean, I 've had it happen before that a virus had wiped out the database of the program I was tehn using, I didn't know it, I ran the antivirus program and of course it found nothing.
