Title: An e-mail account for submitting new viruses
Post by: marc_santosbr on February 15, 2005, 12:39:47 PM
Hi,

I suggest you (Avast programmers) to create an e-mail account for submitting new viruses from us.

I receive new variants and viruses almost everyday (here in Brazil) made from brazillian people and avast sometimes does not recognize them. Using this e-mail will provide you a rapid response to solve that problem.

Best Regards,

Marcelo.

Why suggesting something that already excists?

You can send malware samples/suspected false positives to virus@avast.com.

- Make sure they are in a password protected archive.
- Mention in the body why you think is a new malware/false positive
- And don't forget to mention in the body the password.

There already is one: virus (at) avast.com [replace (at) with @]

Place infected files into a zip file and password protect it with the password "virus"

Before sending, check the file online here: http://virusscan.jotti.org or http://onlinescan.avast.com
