Title: Outlook toolbar problem - not covered by a search
Post by: nextenso on December 15, 2012, 02:41:03 PM
Although I raised this with support last year, no effective answer was made.

I am running Outlook 2003 on Windows XP 64bit, both with all updates and service packs applied as they come.

In Outlook, there is an Avast toolbar which is labelled "Custom 1", in this there are four tool icons, there is no tool tip on mouse hover over each of them. I have tool tips enabled for all other toolbars. The black and white one are obvious, blacklist and whitelist.

Three questions:

1. What does the far lefthand tool do, it is pale grey rectangle with a red 'blocked' symbol - red circle with a diagonal bar.

2. What does the next lefthand one do, it is just a grey/blue rectangle.

I do not wish to experiment in case I make an email safe or not or permanently deleted which should be otherwise.

3. I have some emails incorrectly marked as "Phishing". When I restore by clicking 'Whitelist', it does not remove the "Phishing" label in the subjectline, and manually deleting the "Phishing "word removes the word, then Avast re-attaches it, but, does not put the email in the spam folder.
