I was wondering why menus, buttons and dialogs don't use XP theme styles when not using any Skins (buttons are using classic design)? For example for Virus warnings, ashQuick and Web Shield dialog (ashSimpl2 is using themes by default).
I can make a patch to enable this like i did for NOD32 but it would be better that you enable this by hardcoding it in program itself instead of applying my patches.
Just my opinion and i hope this doesn't requre too much work :)
A small cosmetic fix ;) ;D

Well we're using our own "Office XP" style menus... :P
-
Well that didn't look any near Office XP style...
It looked more like Windows XP Classic theme (imitating Win9x).
By patching with manifest files i managed to force some avast! components to use windows themes. ashQuick works perfectly with it...
-
Can you post a screenshot of what you mean?
BTW ashQuick doesn't have any menus does it? :)
ashQuick is missing a manifest..? Let me check...
-
I'm using Windows XP Theme named PantherXP and my avast! skin MacLover OS X.
Examples below. Pay attention to Cancel button as an example
Forced Windows XP Theme (ashQuick skinning disabled)

No themes and no skins forced

ashQuick skin enabled (MacLover OS X skin)

Now this is just an example,Warning dialog without themes and skins looks like 10x more ugly (at least for me). If themes enabled, buttons are changed the way WinXP theme looks and makes Warning dialog much more nicer to view and operate.

Sure, it's just ashQuick that's missing the manifest... We'll add it, of course.
-
Yes,you're right. Only ashQuick lacks it. Looks like you fixed warning dialogs before :)
