avast! AV Beta-Version [Build 7.0.37943]
As already mentioned here on the avast! forum, we have redesigned the handling of TLS/SSL connections in the mail/web shield for the next program update. Under the following link you can find a beta version of avast! for Mac with these changes. It will specially suit those people, who have problems with the current solution.
To use the beta version, simple uninstall the current version using the menu entry in the avast! GUI and install the beta from the downloaded archive. Note, that this will not keep any configuration from the old version like a "standard" program update.

avast! AV Release-Version [Build 7.0.38397]
Änderungen/Fehlerbeseitigungen:
- Die SSL Handhabung wurde komplett überarbeitet und es gibt keine „SSL Warnungen“ mehr. Es sind keine Einstellungen im Mail-Schutz vorzunehmen um SSL-Verbindungen zu prüfen.
- Virus Container hinzugefügt.
- Dateisystem-Schutz verschiebt nun standardmäßig gefundene Infektionen in den Virus Container.
- Web-Schutz und Mail-Schutz können nun besser sichere Verbindungen (HTTPS, POPS, IMAPS) prüfen (und ist auch standardmäßig im Mail-Schutz aktiviert).
- Viele kleine Fehlerbeseitigungen und Verbesserungen.
- Obwohl ein Upgrade von einer Betaversion möglich ist, wird dringend empfohlen die installierte Betaversion zu deinstallieren und 38397 neu zu installieren.
- Ein Dankeschön an alle die die Betaversionen getestet haben und Probleme bzw. Fehler gemeldet haben. :)

Bug in V13.0 Avast Security Pro Activation [Hinweis]
If you purchased Avast Security Pro and were not able to activate the product then we'd like you to know that it's a BUG not a feature! We are really sorry about this. Fix should be rolled out soon.
What is the issue?
We tested very carefully the new release of 13.0 that introduced premium version of our antivirus for Mac. Features were tested on all supported platforms. Purchase flows were tested in various conditions. But all the testing was done inside of Avast's intranet. Unfortunately, the version 13.0 cannot activate when user is outside of the avast's network because the activation server isn't accessible. The fix is simple but requires to be tested properly to avoid any other issues.
We are really sorry for this inconvenience. There are tens of users affected now because the upgrade to premium version is available only in new installs of Avast Security. Fortunately, we haven't started upgrading existing users to version 13.0 yet.
What should I do if I purchased the Pro already?
Please wait for the update 13.1 that should be released soon (Monday). It will fix the activation issue for good. And your product will activate within next 24 hours after update automatically. We'll contact you to make sure that the issue has been resolved.

PLEASE update MANUALLY to 13.11 from 13.10 [Hinweis]
Dear user of Avast Mac Security version 13.10 (if you are with any other version feel free to ignore), please update to new version 13.11 to fix an unfortunate issue that we introduced in the version 13.10. Open Preferences > Updates. Click "Update Now" button in Program section. (Alternative way to fix this is restart of your Mac computer)
WHY?
This issue has no impact on the realtime protection capabilities or scan functionality of the product. From user perspective it's unrecognizable today. However the product doesn't automatically update its virus definitions that are constantly updated by our ThreatLab team to protect you against the latest emerging threats. They usually deliver big virus definitions 2-4 times a day. Plus fast updates every 5 minutes.
WHAT happened?
We've updated infrastructure of the app package to get ready for the new macOSX release Mojave that was introduced yesterday (24.9.2018). And some of the paths don't update before the restart of your Mac. It's causing automatic updates to fail because the paths are inconsistent.
Lessons learnt
• We've updated our automated test to discover similar issue before release next time
• We updated our procedures to stop update of users faster - it took us 2 hours from discovery of issue to stop of updates to 13.10. It should happen within a few minutes next time!
• We released new version 13.11 fixing the issue correctly within 4 hours!
We'd like to apologize for any inconvenience that this issue may caused. We'll take all possible steps to prevent it in future. Thank you for your support!

We are investigating this at the moment, something that needs to be fixed before we move out of beta.

Avast Secure Browser für Mac Beta-Test [92.0]
Changelog/Fixes:
• Major Chromium update
• [New] Cycling Tabs Setting - setting that allows you change CTRL + TAB behaviour to cycle through recently visited tabs instead of in order
• [New] Enabled Reading List - When you want to save a page to read later you can add to a new reading list instead of bookmarking the page. To add a page to your reading list, click on the bookmark star icon on the right-hand side of the address bar. The page will then be added to your reading list on the right of your bookmark bar.
• [New] Phalanx AMSI connector - If you don’t have Avast or AVG Antivirus installed, ASB will now use 3rd party Antivirus engines for threat detection and scanning. This provides an extra layer of security for those who don’t have Avast or AVG Antivirus installed.
• Improved the overall stability of the Browser
• Improved speed and stability of Avast Sync
• Improved anti-phishing performance
• Minor design improvements and fixes
• Fixed access to wetransfer.com
• Fixed search after pressing 'Return' key on New Tab Page
• Fixed issues with installation of Rakuten extension
