Title: Error running vpsudp.exe

when double-clicking it, I receive the error:
Error: 0x00000008
What is this error :o :o ? how can I fix this?  ??? ???

Hi, there is probably problem with version of vpsupd.exe. I think that you have elder version of vpsupd.exe than the installed version of avast! is. Try to download latest vpsupd.exe.

The VPSUPD.EXE files are not compatible in versions 4.0 and 4.1. The one which is on the web now, is for 4.0. We will publish both of them early next week, so stay tuned.

In the meantime you can just copy the current 400.vps file to any computer not connected to the Internet (this file is the same one for both version).

This error happened after downloading update 0308-7 dated 9/12.
So, do you mean that the current version at http://www.avast.com/i_idt_250.html will not work on Avast4 ver 4.1.260?  ???

Yes, and I firmly believe this is clear from my previous post and from the web page as well (it says 4.0).
