Title: Inbound-Messages "Not-Tested"
Post by: horbar on February 23, 2005, 05:48:34 PM
Hallo,
with the new update [avast-Version 4,6 Home-Edition / Build March 2005 (4.6.603)] my incomings Inbound-Messages shows in the Mail-Header : > "X-Antivirus: avast! (VPS 0508-1, 22.02.2005), Inbound message
X-Antivirus-Status: Not-Tested" < ???    ........and for Outbound-messages appears "clean" ,as it has to be correctly....where is to find the reason for this? ..........My OS is windows 98-SE.
Thank You for help,
regards  horbar

Your mail client probably downloads first the headers only (and they are not scanned) and then the whole mail, which is scanned and the headers from this download should contain the proper clean status.

Hallo vojtech,
...the header of the incoming mail contains :
X-Antivirus: avast! (VPS 0508-3, 25.02.2005), Inbound message
X-Antivirus-Status: Not-Tested
...and this arrived with the new update, bevor it worked correctly :'(........I don't understand, what you mean with :
>"then the whole mail, which is scanned and the headers from this download should contain the proper clean status<"
please explain-me, where I find it ?
---would be realy very happy, if you could help-me to find the source for this fault and to can rectify it........because the reason has to be situated in "avast".........when a mail arrives the avast-scanning-signal appears, what means, that the mail is scanned, but than nothing about the result   ???
Thank you for helping,
regards  horbar

I mean that your client has two copies of headers - one downloaded without message body, that contains 'not scanned'; and the other from full download that contains clean/infected status.

I don't know if it can be found anywhere, I don't know what client do you use.

My GeMail (version 1.6.4.0) displays clean/infected headers as expected (menu Ansicht->Anzeigen->Rohmail)...
