Title: Mail Shield, Yahoo mail not indicating it was scanned

I just started using Avast by downloading the latest version. My internet access is through ATT U-verse. I use Firefox to access Yahoo Mail. (pop.mail.yahoo.com). It appears that Mail Shield is not scanning my email because it shows 0 e-mails scanned. After spending a couple hours on this forum I "think" I learned that Yahoo Mail is Web Mail and therefore not scanned by Avast Mail Shield. Is that correct?  Thanks

the mail shield only scan if you use a mail client and download the mail to your computer

since you use web mail it is scanned as normal webtraffic by the web shield

yahoo also protect all mail accounts with Norton
