Title: Frequent detections of Win32:Sality and Win32:SaliCode after last update
Post by: TMHKR on February 13, 2013, 06:27:28 PM
Avast just updated to the latest virus database version, but since then it has been detecting Win32:Sality or Win32:SaliCode in almost every downloaded installation file - including the legally downloaded ones.

For example, if I try to install MP3Tag, IrfanView or Silverlight (which are all downloaded from their original locations), Avast constantly detects one of the viruses mentioned above.

I personally believe it's a false alarm... Any thoughts?

Avast: 7.0.1474 (latest)
Virus DB version: 130213-0
OS: Win XP Pro SP3 (fully updated)
