Title: Cannot connect to SMTP server after uninstalling of Avast 7
Post by: peke on February 17, 2013, 12:50:41 AM
Hello, I uninstalled Avast 7 because it was slowing down my Windows 8 computer.
But what made me really angry was that after the uninstallation I was not able to send an email through any SMTP server.

It is definitely Avast because I verified it by installing it again. Then I was able to send the emails again.
And when I disable the mail shield or only the option "Check outgoing mail (SMTP)" the problem appears again.

Please, help me to get rid of it and allow me to uninstall the Avast suite!

Yes, the settings remined the same. And as I said the problem appears when I uncheck "Check outgoing mail (SMTP)", in that case if I try to telnet my SMTP server it ends on timeout.
