Title: I'm Switching Computers
Post by: idleracer on February 20, 2013, 08:04:11 AM
My old desktop with Windows XP finally gave out on me, but not before I managed to save everything of any worth on to an external hard drive. My new all-in-one computer is equipped with Windows 7. What I'd like to know is if it's better to reload Avast anew from this website, or get my old Avast (free edition) off of the external hard drive? If I have to download it from here again, can it be registered to me under the same name and account I had with the old computer, and how do I make that transition? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Best to install a fresh copy of avast.

Yes you can re-register with your same account used previously.

It's always best to use a fresh copy of Avast.
