Hit F5 twice for force refresh of the browser cache...
As for the webpage, i love it. Clean and VERY simple to navigate.
Though "Runs risky programs safely" for avast! Pro (comparison page) should also be checked. I mean, this is meant for the Sandbox right? Which is available in Pro version as well.

Does Google Chrome have to be the second <li> in the slider? I think that avast! would benefit if they put their products first.

I like it. I think the light/white colour is easy going and the contrast with dark when tab/s are clicked is great.

I think that the free antivirus should have its own page. The Pro, IS, and Premier versions have their own link (in Compare Antivirus (http://www.avast.com/compare-antivirus)), but avast! free does not.

On a PC, it's O.K.
From my smart phone, it's borderline unusable. Did anybody from Avast actually test this new website (full website view, not the mobile view) from a smartphone? Glitchy, halted scrolling, large black shadows, etc. :o
The mobile Avast website hasn't been updated so it still shows all old product information.

The new site interface looks great... clearly laid out, and easier to navigate. Previously, downloads were a bit hard to find, but it's now easily found, which is a great improvement.
I agree with !Donovan though... would like to see a separate page for Avast! Free too, with it's features, system requirements, etc. It's understandable, that it's a free product, and your main focus is on the commercial products, but Avast! Free is a hugely popular software too, and you should give treat it that way :). Many users around the world love Avast! Free.
Had one more suggestion, it would be great if you offer Avast for download from some other download site other than CNET, because they have earned themselves a bad name for wrapping software setups with their download manager. I personally avoid that site, and many others I know. Would be great if you either offered via another download site, or from your own site. I do know you offer via your own site too, but it's in the download section.

The new design is perfect, but I found some mistypes in Russian language:
"avast! Free Antivirus
Настолько хорошо блокирует вирусы и шпионские программы, что часто превосходить ..."
the correct way is:
"avast! Free Antivirus
Настолько хорошо блокирует вирусы и шпионские программы, что часто превосходит ..." (without letter 'ь')
Also:
"Безопасность онлайн покупок и банковский операций"
the correct is: "Безопасность онлайн-покупок и банковскиx операций"
And lost comma:
"У нас есть продукт, подходящий именно Вам."
And this is absolutely incorrect:
"Зайти на форум
Спросите (или ответите) на вопросы от других пользователей avast! онлайн."
the correct is:
"Зайти на форум
Задайте свои вопросы или ответьте на вопросы других пользователей avast! онлайн."
I'm sure, that there are many other mistakes in translation.

I would have though that someone would have been monitoring the avast 8 GUI topic and feedback site as this is just repeating the contrast issues of the avast 7 free UI. Yes there are some light relief (excuse the pun) with the graphics, but there are acres of white, too bright.

I'm experiencing a glitch when I hover over the Home and Business categories up at the top.
When I hover on them, they display a screen-wide black, empty huge block.
To have the Drop Down Menus properly drop down, I seem to have to first hover above the categories and then move downward.
Coming onto those 2 categories from either the sides or from below them will display the aforementioned screen-wide black, empty block.

I like the website.
The only problem is the home page does not show much excitement and enthusiasm considering avast! 8 was just released.

Well everything is easy to find and all that but I am with Para-Noid and DavidR. White , white , and more white. It is like I am at DeLL Forum and not Avast!. What, a little more of orange or the old blue, does not cost that much, doesn't it.

I've been reading others posts and this is my opinion about new website...
I like the new design very much but, in my opinion, you shoud have used less white colour and you could have highlighted the orange colour becouse I think that it's the one that identify Avast products. When I see the orange color I think of avast... :) Do you understand me? .... ;)
If we talk about usability, I could say that now, all the sections seems to be as if they were hidden... You want to highlight Avast Free an IS as your main products but what about Premier ? Why did you put so down in the web? I don't know if you can understand me...
If we talk about design , I would have set a background image with some orange color in the first image, some text, a rectangle or whatever you want... :-\
Look at the attached image. I'm refering to the area which is inside the orange box that I drew. I think there is too much white colour and an excesive big gradient background image...
Otherwise, Congratulations for Avast 8! You have done a very good work as always you do :) ;D
PD: Excuse for my english... I'm spanish and I don't have the native level of some users :)

Lets hope they think contrast, not another see of white/light colours. I can't dial my monitor brightness down much more or everything else is to bloody dark.
EDIT: I too liked the old avast.com layout and colour scheme better.

Here is a Screen Capture of what I'm experiencing when I hover on the Home and Business categories at the top of the site.
As I mentioned yesterday, it happens when I come on to hover on those categories from below or from the sides.
If I come on to hover on them from above them, they seem to work OK.
The glitch doesn't appear 100% of the time, but I'd say about 80% of the time it does.

Hmmm??? I did some more testing and it might be an Opera Browser problem.
I accessed the avast website with my Chrome Portable, which is the latest version from PortableApps.com that I just installed the other day ... and the glitch on the Home & Business categories did NOT manifest itself with Chrome.
Then after clearing out the Private Data and the Browser Cache on my Opera 11.64, I accessed the avast website again.
The glitch manifested itself with Opera again.
True, Opera 11.64 is NOT remotely the latest Opera version.
I don't know whether the latest Opera 12.xx version would also exhibit the glitch or not.
I might have to try the latest Opera version later today to see whether that clears up the problem.

I just accessed the avast website with my Firefox Portable 19.0 and the Home & Business categories worked fine.
So, it does seem like Opera 11.64 seems to be the culprit.
Can anyone else who already has Opera 12.xx confirm that hovering on the Home & Business categories at the top of the page on the avast website works fine?

Alright, much better. I can now confirm that Opera 12.14 has eliminated the glitch of which I spoke earlier on the Home & Business categories.
As to the website itself? While I haven't given it a power scrutinizing session, I think so far I would have to say it is easier to find stuff on this new version than it was on the old version. Good layout and navigation flow from that standpoint.
As to the contrast issue that others have mentioned?
Given that avast's marquee signature color is Orange, it could probably use a little bit more Orange accents / trim somewhere.

There is one issue I did find, however. Under "our other popular solutions", Google Chrome is listed. This is misleading, as it implies that Google Chrome is an Avast! product. This can also lead to legal issues.

Are you having server problems because it takes forever to get a connection to the home page and even longer if I bookmark an individual post. Anybody else notice the new slowness?

Just a followup on the slowness issue. It seems like your SMF database has a bandwidth botttleneck issue. Please check your SMF and dataabse logs for errors because something is not right here. I have built and maintained many forums using SMF and I can see the signs that something is drastically wrong with your installation.

I'm not sure what sound pack you are talking about, but the additional Languages includes the Pirate talk option. AvastUI, Settings, language, Install additional languages.

By the way this is about the avast website.
It is called progress and development a completely new large version increase (from 7.0 to 8.0) is likely to have new functions/features.
The boot-time scan is with the rest of the scans, avastUI, Security, Antivirus - Scan Now and scroll down to the Boot-Time Scan.

I'm not sure what sound pack you are talking about, but the additional Languages includes the Pirate talk option. AvastUI, Settings, language, Install additional languages.
There used to be several sound packs available as downloads like the Pirate voice pack. Johnny Rebel, Redneck and California Dude to name a few. There were also some in different languages. Just a break form the annoying default voice.

Unfortunately there are US Embargoes on several countries and Iran is on that list, the main avast domain isn't allowed access as it can be used to download the antivirus software (part of the restricted goods, etc.). But the sub domains are information only that is why you can access the forum and blog sub domains.
