I did disables all of the shields on Avast 7.0 for Mac but the Avast engine was still on and using 97%+ of my cpu. So I rebooted and then Avast freed up the cpu and things started working back to normal on my Mac. Is there a fix coming from Avast? And How do you turn of Avast engine???

Unfortunately there is not an option to disable the shields for a set interval like in the Windows version. Should you have an issue where you need to kill the process, use the force quit option in Activity Monitor as a last resort. the processes begin with com.avast
