About 20 of these (exactly the same) were reported this morning.
[XXX-IS2]: AAVM - scanning warning: x_AavmCheckFileDirectEx [UNI]: C:\WINNT\Security\edb.chk (C:\WINNT\Security\edb.chk) returning error, 0000A413.
Is there a reference of Avast errors somewhere? What's A413?
Thanks in advance!

Quote from Vlk:
Error 0000A413 means something went really wrong, such as the virus DB file being badly damaged...
Please use the search option. There are various threads about this.

Actually, A413 means "Unwanted exception" - which may have many possible reasons.
If you copy the mentioned file - edb.chk - to some other location (is it possible to copy it?) and scan it e.g. using the Explorer Extension - does the same problem occur (i.e. does a new record appear in avast! log)?

Thanks for the quick reply. I did a search before posting my question, and saw conflicting information, and none of the results were for this file name.
After copying the file to the desktop, another error appeared.

How big is the file?
Could you send us the file so that we can check what the problem might be? (even though I have a bad feeling that it won't reproduce here... but who knows).

Here you go... I added.txt so I could attach it.
