Avasti Antivirus 8.0.1482.0
W8
Thunderbird 17.03
Running the above. Mail Shield does not allow me to send emails.
Turning mail shield off in the Security/mail shield settings does resolve the problem. but I want to have mail shield running.
I know that when I first installed Avasti and I opened up Thunderbird it asked me to exempt certificates?
Any ideas

Thanks for the link. All my settings seem to be ok.]
Incoming mail works OK.
Outgoings mail is the problem.
If I go to mail shield settings and uncheck "Scan outgoing Mail (SMTP)" Everything works, but that is not the best solution.

In you're Thunderbird settings make sure you have 'Connection Security' set to NONE for both server setting and outgoing server in you're thunderbird, and in you're Avast SSL accounts make sure you have choose SSL for POP / SMTP / IMAP and let me know.

Incoming/Outgoing in Thunderbird all set to NONE.
Can you confirm how to get to Avasti SSL accounts to choose SSL POP / SMTP / IMAP ?
I ask because in the link you provided there dos not appear to be a "Expert Settings" or SSL accounts in Avasti 8
Help much appreciated.

Okay goto Avast and click onto the tab called 'Security' on the left side look for 'Antivirus', than click onto 'Mail Shield' and click onto setting tab on the right top side of the 'Mail Shield' and look for 'SSL Scanning'.

Got it. The "Scan SSL connections" box is checked.
Unless there is anything else I need to do, everything seems to be working now.
Thanks

To do a complete email test write out email in you're email address and IF you're email comes back everything is working
