Hi,
Avast crashes our Production Windows 2008 server when its runs Quick or Full scan.
The CPU utilization reaches 100% during this time & server crashes
We have already raised a support ticket(Ticket ID : - SIO-666524) & nobody from avast is interested in looking into this issue.
Can someone from Avast support look into this after reading this post on forum.
Please its really urgent which is hampering our production server or otherwise we need to Drop out Avast & go for another Product.
-
I reported your problem/topic, hopefully you'll get some help asap.
-
Is this post only for assurance or surely you think we will get help from Avast.
Waiting for your response

Do you have any mapped network drives on the server in question? Do you know if the server crashes with BSOD?
-
Yes its the local drive of my PC which is mapped.
But its getting mapped from lon time & we didnt find such issues earliar.

Anything in the event logs?
-
No we dont get anything in Event logs.
The problem is we have a scheduled daily quick scan at 4.00GMT & we noticed that server crashes at that time due to CPU utilization reaching 100%.
After that we tried to manually run the quick scan & we saw the same result.
Can you let us know what may be the cause?
Regards
Vivek Darji

I have the same issue on Windows Server 2003. Two machines crashes continuously few minutes after OS boot. These are last two Windows 2003 Servers in our environment but they cannot be upgraded. No problems on Windows 2008, nor 2012. Of course both of Windows 2003 Servers works stable after Avast deinstalation. Product: Avast Endpoint Protection Plus with Enterprise Administration console.
