Title: AVAST IS firewall
Post by: potjevleesch on March 06, 2013, 01:20:01 PM
Hi !
I upgraded this morning from Avast AV free to AVAST IS full paid version... After the upgrade prcess, I noticed Windows firewall was still up and running as before, I subsequently deactivated windows FW to avoid conflicts.
2 questions:
# was it right to fully deactivate Windows FW ?
# why does windows security center complain there is no fw running (requests to reacivate it) ?
thx for your advices

Avast firewall is designed to be run with windows firewall without conflicts.

However, it is also okay to run Avast firewall without windows firewall activated.

So it is entirely up to you to have both or either one of them active.  ;)

thank you
does this mean Avast fw does not work ? for instance: firefox.exe is blocked in the windows fw but is allowed by Avast fw... which one supersedes ?
