Title: Virus Chest - restoring recycled files
Post by: spandexninja on March 08, 2013, 02:01:11 AM
Avast 8 (in Windows 8 ) detected a file as a virus when I recycled it, and moved it from RECYCLE.BIN to the virus chest. I tried to restore it from the virus chest but nothing happens, it doesn't appear in the desktop recycle bin, RECYCLE.BIN or in the location it was in before recycling. I have my OS on an SSD and the recycled file was from an internal HDD storage drive.

I don't actually want to restore it anymore. I just want to make sure, is there any chance that it was actually restored but is hidden / invisible on my drive because it was a recycled file? What exactly is supposed to happen when you click 'restore' on a recycled virus chest file?
