Title: Received SMS message causes "Unfortunately, avast! Mobile Security has stopped"
Post by: jrsingle on March 14, 2013, 02:40:29 PM
When I receive an SMS from an unknown number I get a pop-up saying so and asking whether I want to allow or deny it from now on. When I select "Allow" I get a pop-up that says "Unfortunately, avast! Mobile Security has stopped". The SMS is never received in the Android Messaging app.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Phone: Verizon LG Lucid
Andriod version: 4.0.4
avast! Mobile Security version: 2.0.3917

Hello,

I got informed that the "ask-me-if-a-SMS-from-an-unknown-nuber-arrives"-feature isn't compatible with Android 4.2 and some devices with lower Android version.
so - I'm sorry. it won't work anymore and the feature will be deleted from these devices in the next update.

Please deactivate the message shield to prevent further problems.

Thank-you for the answer. I didn't have to disable the Message Shield, just the "offer to block messages".
