Title: Drive letter in Firewall Application Paths changes on reboot
Post by: JRoundtree on March 24, 2013, 11:43:27 AM
Hello,

The application paths defined in the Avast 8 Firewall application rules should have C: as the drive letter since that is where the relevant applications are installed. Unfortunately, that is not the case. I have a Windows 7 x64 system in which the C: drive is mounted internally along with other internal drives D: and G:, but which also accesses four other drives [ P:, S:, T: W: ] via a JBOD [ Just A Bunch of Disks ] connected via an e-SATA link. I corrected the firewall rules to reference C:, exited the firewall Application Rules dialog [ since doing that seems to save the settings], and rebooted whereupon I immediately got connection errors in my Widgets and Firefox browser. I checked the firewall rules and they referenced the P: drive which is just a datastore. I shut down the JBOD box, rebooted, inspected the firewall rules and they now reference I: drive, a removable drive, one of the camera media drives. It seems that the referenced drive moves around randomly. What is the solution? I NEVER had this problem in earlier versions of Avast.
