Title: archive password protected_cannot scan files
Post by: first_blade on April 08, 2013, 10:04:37 AM
I don't understand before 2013 it worked fine but with the new changes it began to say that things were password protected even on my 'administrative sight. What's up with that? And how do I 'fix this'?

There's nothing to fix.
You can't scan PW protected archives.

How do I get into password protected files? I'm the administrator. Why can't they be accessed?

If you didn't PW protect them yourself, you can't.
E.g. Some Adobe installers use this technique to protect the files in the archive.

there are many programs that password protect there files with passwords.....not something you would see, but avast see it when scanning

files that can not be scanned for whatever reason avast give are just that, it does not mean they are infected

this is the most frequently asked question in the forum so lots of info if you search
