The interface has changed since I last did this.
Additional Protection>WebRep is gone and with it any obvious way or removing WebRep.
-
Yes it has change and yes you can do it:
From the avastUI > Settings > Browser Integration and click the Uninstall 'Security plugin' option against Firefox.
-
Thank you. I missed that--looked under Settings>WebRep & Antiphishing instead. Doesn't it seem that Browser Integration logically falls under that heading?
-
Yes it has change and yes you can do it:
From the avastUI > Settings > Browser Integration and click the Uninstall 'Security plugin' option against Firefox.
Are you sure? Open Firefox --> Extras --> Add-ons, look for 'Extensions' (or sth. like that) and click on 'Deactivate'.

Yes I'm sure, I wouldn't have offered it if I weren't sure.
The firefox deactivation/disable 'doesn't remove it' and that is what the OP asked about.

You're right. :-[
Edit: May I ask you: So 'WebRep' is part of 'Ad Blocker'?

Since webrep preceded ad blocker, no I don't believe it is.
I don't use ad blocker, I can't really test what avast resource it is linked to, webrep or web shield. Or could it be a stand alone firefox addon in the same way as AdBlockPlus that it is based on (and why it doesn't install if you already have AdBlockPlus.

Concerning point 1: ok. I just wanted to know.
Concerning point 2: I use 'Ad Blocker', for I never had 'AB' or 'ABP'. Until now I didn't find a place, where to
uninstall 'WebRep'. If you want to use 'Ad Blocker', you have to de-install 'AB' or 'ABP'.
(It's like using 'avast' AND 'Avira' or other AV).

I don't want to use Ad Blocker as AdBlockPlus is more flexible and you can add more lists and that is why avast won't install ad blocker on firefox if you already have AdBlockPlus.

Could you please help me find the "Browser Integration" part ? No matter how much I search the options after I hit "Settings" I cannot find it...

I have answered your other topic - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=154134.0 (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=154134.0) - it is best not to revive old topics as they are related to older avast versions and the User Interface has changed.
